Meet Gwen
For the last decade, when some of Hinds County’s toughest cases have gone to trial, Gwen Agho has been the prosecutor standing in the courtroom.
A lifelong Hinds County resident, Gwen was raised in Clinton and now calls Jackson home. She has dedicated her legal career to public service and protecting the community she knows firsthand. Since joining the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office in 2016, she has prosecuted murders, violent crimes, firearm offenses, narcotics cases, crimes against children, and other serious felony cases. Today, she serves as Chief Deputy District Attorney, helping lead the office while continuing to handle major criminal cases.
Gwen’s experience has also been called upon beyond Hinds County. She was selected to serve as a special prosecutor in Lafayette County in the Jimmie “Jay” Lee murder case, bringing her courtroom experience to one of Mississippi’s most closely watched criminal prosecutions.
Gwen is a cum laude graduate of Millsaps College and earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she served on the Trial Advocacy Board and competed on the National Trial Team in Criminal Law.
With nearly a decade of prosecutorial experience, close to 100 trials taken to verdict, and a 90% conviction rate, Gwen has the experience to lead the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office from day one
